In the wake of corona virus, face mask has become a part of our day to day life. We are in an era today where, it is okay to step out without a wallet but not without a mask. Not primarily coz we want to stay safe but we will be fined by the police a lump sum of 1000 bucks! What say? I have penned down my top 5 interesting observations on face masks, here we go!
1. Variety of Masks available in market
Masks are available in all shapes and sizes! Although the basic functionality remains the same, based on the amount you would want to spend, options are limitless. Ranging from as less as 10 bucks for a simple cotton mask to as high as 700 bucks for N95 masks. Cotton masks, designer masks, surgical masks, N95 masks are the ones that rule the market today.
2. Small masks in Big fat Indian Weddings
As the famous line goes, The show must go on. With or without pandemic weddings will come and go. We are known for our big fat weddings. Attire, jewelry, food, and what not. With masks becoming the new normal even the couple are grooving today with designer masks in their photoshoots.
Unfortunately, safety precautions are largely neglected in functions that are becoming hotspots day after day.
3. Masks with a bling
World thinks India is a poor country. But we know, it ain't true. We have a majority of people below the poverty line who can't even afford simple masks. On the contrary, we have other filthy rich people who are making news for their masks with bling! Can you imagine gold and diamond-studded masks!
4. My mask, my rules
If you have gone out anytime in the past 7 months you'll get to know different ways how people are wearing a mask. Agree that we are not used to wearing masks all our life and it is difficult for us. But we need to understand that nothing is more than life. A survey says 44% of people in India do not know the right way to wear a mask. Wearing masks this way not only defeats the whole purpose but also in most cases,becomes a reason to spread the virus.
5. Business opportunity with Masks
Pandemic has taken back a lot of things from a common man. Jobs, food, houses, and even lives. The past seven months haven't been a cakewalk at all. People and businesses have suffered much more than a mere disease. When nothing was going their way, many smart people have made their living just making these humble face masks. These simple cotton masks may not look all stylish but they do the same job as your costly masks and we need to support them.
Although resturants, malls and cinema theatres have unlocked, the fight against the pandemic is not over yet. We still have a long way to go until the vaccine comes our way. Stay safe, stay healthy, and do not forget the wear your face masks.
