Hi hello how do you do? Did you realize it's been 6 months through #quarantine or rightly since the time we have been sitting in home!? Yes, of course. I'm sure the country has gone through its own share of ups and downs in these 6 months. So today's blog is a flashback post to recall top 3 trending things that raised my eyebrows in each of these months.

Starting with April. Don't you feel April was exciting? I mean..., lockdown was something which we never knew would be possible but it did happen. It was a chill month. Every now and then watching Modiji on the television screens at 8PM was something to look forward to. Also, do you remember those Whatsapp forwards and memes at which we would laugh hard looking at the police chasing people coming out of their homes? Hilarious right? But what actually became viral this month was the humble coffee with a fancy name yet simple ingredients, #dalgonacoffee. Hmmm yea, raise your hands if you tried this at home.

Then came May. Honestly this was when the thought of lockdown started getting to our nerves. People were going crazy somebody is exploring new hobbies, new masterchefs in home and what not. Meanwhile what kept majority of Indians busy was the repeat telecast of Ramayan. Moving on. Although lockdown was on, birthdays don't stop coming right? Baking was never this easy but the youtube videos showcasing oreo and bourbon cakes have got a separate fan base, what say? And yeah, do you remember those swarm of locusts that flew to our subcontinent from Africa? One among many crazy things we witnessed in 2020!

Coming to June, we were getting used to this life by now. Funny enough, the guys in the house were now getting frustrated waiting for Modiji to open salons. When nothing seemed to happen in their favor the quarantine haircuts became a trend. Wife's cum personal barbers became a new norm. Then came the news of Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide leaving every Indian to think why would such a successful guy commit something like this? But what hit the most to majority of people spending their time at home was govt. ban of digital sensation #TikTok..

July was no better. With Amphan and Nisarga cyclones, heavy rain and floods throughout the country we saw a shift in media from corona news to flood news now. Homeschooling became a new norm along with work from home. Along with parents even kids were now glued to computer screens attending their online classes. Meanwhile women on social media came up with hashtags #ChallengeAccepted and #WomenSupportingWomen by posting a black-and-white portrait to show solidarity and support other women across the world .

Four months passed and came August. It's a month of viral hashtags, videos and trends i would say. Starting with the most bizarre meme trend of the year, the #Binod trend. One video from the youtube channel SlayPoint led to the internet going gaga over Binod comments. Followed by this came the #CBIForSSR and #justiceforssr campaigns where the country united itself to demand justice for their favorite hero. But what unexpectedly became viral was the rap sequence made out of a daily soap #Rasodemeinkontha making the singer an overnight sensation.

No month passed without surprising us. We are in September now. And it ain't no different. Start of the month left the youth in tears when this happened, #Pubgbaninindia. I must say that this is a very noisy month. With media houses opening up a new dimension to news reporting. Bollywood drama followed by Drugs Drugs and only Drugs. I hope that the wave of hate and negativity subsides soon.

Did you recall your 6 months too? If you did show some love with your likes and comments. That said and done 2020 has never failed to surprise us. Let's see what else it has in store for the remaining months to come!!
