The living room is one such space in your house where you spend your maximum time. Be it the time spent with your family, the time where you are entertaining a few guests, a night out with friends, or simply some me-time with a book. The living room hosts all these joyous moments for you.

When it comes to decorating a home for me, the living room is the place where it all starts from. It sets the mood for the house and the rest will be more or less the extension of the spirit set here. I love colors that are subtle, mild and that adds character. So when we were picking furniture for our living room, I knew exactly what I wanted.
If you are one of my kind who loves Bohemian style but can't let go of your Indian roots, below are my top 5 living room decor tips and tricks specially curated for you.
1. Invest in a good quality couch
Couch/Sofa is that piece of furniture where I spend my maximum time in. My mornings start here with a cup of hot tea. So for me, this piece of furniture has to be the first and the best buy for this room. I would suggest you, invest in a good quality couch that is not just cozy and comfy but can also stand the test of time. For my living room, we went for this limited edition House of Pataudi Fabric 3 Seater Sofa.

2. Accent with tables
Tables in a living room serve their own individual purpose. They can still act as stand-out pieces while serving the purpose of holding coffee mugs, newspapers, and other accessories. I like them to be multifunctional and iconic. In my living room, I have 2 wooden accent tables. I have a trunk from Pepperfry serving as a center table also hiding my extra cushions safely inside. The other side table is from Wooden Street which serves its purpose in my reading corner.
3. Play around with cushions and throws
Cushions and throws can add some extra color and texture to your living room. The best part is, just by changing a throw or a cushion you can give a complete make-over to your space anytime in the future. So, this is one forte I feel everyone should play around with and have some fun. Like the one, I have chosen for my Wingchair with wordings from TheYellowDwelling.

4. Add some life with the plants
If you want to bring some outdoor to indoor, plants are your perfect companions. They instantly lit up your space. If you aren't a plant parent yet, this lockdown try your hands in gardening to enjoy the bliss when they bloom.

5. Induce your personality
It is ultimately your home. Including a few knick-knacks in your living room like souvenirs collected over travel, photographs of your important memories, gifts from your loved ones, or trinkets collected over time will weave the story of whom this home belongs to. After all, someone has rightly said, 'Your home should be expressions of you and who you love.'
