Women's day is here and, what better day to share 5 must-read books for all those women out there trying to make their mark in the field of technology.
We as women, have our own fair share of emotional challenges. Being in the tech industry that is majorly led by men is never easy. One is expected to be on the top of her game every single time which can be exhausting. These 5 must-reads can be that guiding factor for all of us today. These books were recommended to me by my mentor, and they have changed the way I approach to situations at workplace ever since. So, here I share with you these 5 treasures of mine.
1. Lean In

Facebook's COO Sheryl Sandberg's book Lean In, looks at what women can do to help themselves, and make the small changes in their life that can change on a more universal scale. She draws on her own experiences working in some of the world's most successful businesses, as well as academic research, to find practical answers to the problems faced by women in the workplace.
Lean In is about tackling the anxieties and preconceptions that stop women reaching the top – taking a place at the table, and making yourself a part of the debate.
Completely relatable and a must read for all the women and specially men in leadership roles to understand their employees better.
2. Presence

Very often after a job interview, a performance review, or a difficult conversation we feel powerless.
Harvard professor Amy Cuddy describes by accessing our personal power, how we can achieve "presence," the state in which we stop worrying about the impression we're making on others and instead adjust the impression we've been making on ourselves.
Brilliantly researched, impassioned, and accessible, Presence is filled with stories of individuals who learned how to flourish during the stressful moments that once terrified them. Its a must read to learn how to approach your biggest challenges with confidence instead of dread, and to leave them with satisfaction instead of regret.
3. Emotional Agility

The most relatable book out of the lot for me would be Emotional Agility.
Susan David in this book highlights on the judgemental opinions of our inner voice. She shares a new way to enable us to make peace with our inner self, achieve our most valued goals, make real change, and live life to the fullest.
Emotional Agility describes a new way of living and relating to yourself and the world around you. Become aware of your true nature, learn to face your emotions with acceptance and generosity, act according to your deepest values, and flourish.
4. Multipliers

Wall Street Journal bestseller Multipliers explores why some leaders drain capability and intelligence from their teams while others amplify it to produce better results.
In this engaging and highly practical book, leadership expert Liz Wiseman explores these two leadership styles, persuasively showing how Multipliers can have a resoundingly positive and profitable effect on organizations—getting more done with fewer resources, developing and attracting talent and cultivating new ideas and energy to drive organizational change and innovation.
5. Grit

In this must-read for all those seeking to succeed, psychologist Angela Duckworth takes us on an eye-opening journey to discover the true qualities that lead to outstanding achievement.
Winningly personal, insightful and powerful, Grit is a book about what goes through your head when you fall down, and how that makes all the difference.
